Jurgen Klopp-Tottenham claim emerges as Ange Postecoglou sack shouts grow
Ange Postecoglou is under serious pressure as Tottenham manager, but they appear set to stick with him until the end of the season.
Tottenham have endured a miserable season, losing 16 of their 30 league games so far, and are currently 16th in the Premier League.
Their focus will now be on winning the Europa League, which is Postecoglou’s final shot at qualifying for European football next season and salvaging something from an otherwise disastrous campaign.
Some believe that Postecoglou should be dismissed now, with a new manager bounce potentially helping Spurs beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the upcoming Europa League quarter-finals, but there are few candidates who could replace him in the short term.

Spurs told to stick with Postecoglou by Danny Murphy
Former Spurs player Danny Murphy has now claimed that unless Tottenham can hire someone of Jurgen Klopp’s calibre, they should stick with Postecoglou until the end of the season.

“Some are calling for Ange to be sacked now so a new manager bounce helps them win the Europa but it’s not my gut feeling unless there is a Jurgen Klopp available with the CV to make a difference,” he wrote in the Mail on Sunday (page 89, April 6).
“To draft in someone less experienced doesn’t make sense. New managers need time to impose their ideas.”

Would Jurgen Klopp join Tottenham now?
Talk of Klopp joining Tottenham has always felt well wide of the mark. The German departed Liverpool at the end of last season after a legendary spell at Anfield, and now works in an upstairs role with the Red Bull Group.
Speaking in 2024, Klopp claimed that he would never manage another club in England aside from Liverpool, out of loyalty to his former club.
“”What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance,” he told the BBC.
Given his Liverpool loyalties, it seems impossible that Klopp would even consider a move to Tottenham, and it would be tough trying to convince a manager to join now rather than at the end of the season.
If Postecoglou is dismissed at the end of the season, it is unclear who could come in, but it will certainly not be Klopp.
