Julian Nagelsmann twist emerges as Tottenham make Ange Postecoglou sack decision

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as a contender to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, per the betting markets.

The Australian’s position at Spurs is currently 100 per cent safe as David Ornstein claims that the club have made the decision to not sack him.

However, with the club’s poor form, Daniel Levy’s patience can only be pushed to a certain extent before he’s forced to pull the trigger.

Julian Nagelsmann has odds of 25/1 to be the next Tottenham manager

Paddy Power are offering odds of 25/1 for the former Bayern Munich boss to replace Postecoglou.

While Nagelsmann will have the 2026 World Cup on his mind, that is still a year and a half away and if Levy makes an exciting pitch to him, things may happen.

He has been previously linked with the job and the fact that he even interviewed for it suggests that there is interest in taking over the North London outfit.

If Germany are to have a dismal World Cup, akin to their last two in Russia and Qatar, there is every chance that Nagelsmann is no longer considered an elite coach.

This would also see the calibre of clubs keen on hiring him perhaps not being as illustrious so it is a big decision he has to make.

It would also be an exciting appointment for the fans and even those who want Postecoglou to stay would understand if Nagelsmann is the one replacing him.

In other Tottenham news, Ian Wright has been left fuming at a controversy regarding the club and has said “I don’t care” as he wants change.
