Jude Bellingham reacts to James Maddison winner in Tottenham v Manchester United

James Maddison is basking in glory after scoring the winner for Tottenham in their 1-0 win against Manchester United on Sunday, and even Jude Bellingham has chimed in.

Ange Postecoglou drafted Maddison straight back into his starting line-up on 16 February despite the England international sitting out five games across all competitions due to a calf injury.

The decision paid off as the midfielder tapped the ball into an empty net just 13 minutes into the game against Manchester United to give the hosts the win.

Netting his first goal in six Premier League appearances, Maddison took the opportunity to silence his critics as he was seen making a shushing gesture during celebrations.

Jude Bellingham joins in on James Maddison praise

Maddison doubled down on his determination to silence his doubters as he shared a picture from the game on his personal Instagram account along with a shushing emoji.

Bellingham was among those who reacted to the post as the Real Madrid superstar commented a face exhaling emoji in support of his England teammate.

WWE superstar Finn Balor and rapper AJ Tracey also reacted to the post, while Djed Spence, Manor Solomon and Dominic Solanke were full of praise as well.

Tottenham go above Manchester United

Tottenham went above Manchester United in the Premier League after Maddison’s winner gave them the victory on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are now placed 12th in the table after 25 games, while the Red Devils find themselves struggling in 15th place, albeit with just one point less.

It is, therefore, imperative that the North London giants continue putting points on the board to avoid falling down the table between now and the end of the season.

Consistency has been a major problem for Postecoglou and Co this season, as evidenced by their run of seven winless games in the league before consecutive victories over Brentford and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Maddison will take a lot of confidence from his goal against Ruben Amorim’s side.

Having been at the receiving end of severe criticism this season, the former Leicester star will be determined to add more goals and assists to his tally in the coming weeks.
