Jason Cundy taken aback by Thomas Frank sack reveal live on air – ‘Oh no’
Jason Cundy was surprised to hear where Tottenham boss Thomas Frank ranks in the odds for the next Premier League manager to be sacked.
Frank saw his Tottenham side battle to a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.
However, Spurs fans are not convinced by Frank and the former Brentford manager is under serious pressure in North London.
Harry Redknapp has urged Tottenham to stand by Frank, but results need to improve if that is to happen – starting with a win against his former employers Brentford next weekend.
Thomas Frank second favourite to be next Premier League manager sacked
It perhaps comes as little surprise to Tottenham fans to read that Frank is second favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked.
That information was relayed to Cundy live on talkSPORT, to which the former Chelsea player replied: “Oh no.”
Cundy asked who the favourite is, with that being Leeds United manager Daniel Farke.
That reveal was made prior to Spurs’ draw with Newcastle, but there has been no shift in terms of the odds since then.
Thomas Frank’s Tottenham win rate makes for worrying reading
Frank was only appointed by Tottenham in June, but already there are real cracks beginning to show.
Even the Dane’s demeanour is different to what we became so accustomed to during his successful time at Brentford.
Managing Spurs is an entirely different beast, though, as every bad result – let alone performance – is analysed in fine detail.
| Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Win % | |
| Brondby | 103 | 46 | 29 | 28 | 44.66 |
| Brentford | 317 | 132 | 77 | 108 | 41.64 |
| Tottenham | 22 | 8 | 7 | 7 | 36.36 |
Frank being sacked by Tottenham is inevitable in the view of some, and his win rate certainly suggests something needs to change.
From the 22 games Frank has managed in all competitions, he has overseen just eight wins for a win rate of 36.36 per cent.
For comparison, Ange Postecoglou had a 46.53 per cent win rate. As we all know, though, that was balanced out by success in the Europa League.
Frank will just hope the late point at Newcastle provides a springboard to push on and hopefully string some much-needed wins together.
If not, he will go the same way as Postecoglou – and countless others – in being given his marching orders by the Tottenham hierarchy.
