Jamie O’Hara takes immediate dig at Arsenal as Tottenham reach Europa League final
Tottenham overcame Bodo/Glimt 2-0 away from home to progress to the Europa League final.
In what has been a difficult season for the Lilywhites, all that stands between Tottenham and silverware is 90 minutes against Manchester United.
Goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro proved to be the difference on Thursday, but there is still plenty of work to be done in what was a lacklustre performance for the majority.

Jamie O’Hara digs at Arsenal over Tottenham European success
Tottenham have certainly not been the most successful side in north London this season, with plenty of space between the two in the Premier League table this season.
While Mikel Arteta’s side has been pushing right at the top, eyeing another season of Champions League football, Postecoglou’s men are nearer to the relegation zone.
Team | Position | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost |
Arsenal | 2 | 35 | 18 | 13 | 4 |
Tottenham | 16 | 35 | 11 | 5 | 19 |
In fact, the only way the Lilywhites can qualify for the top European competition is by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United.
Nevertheless, having progressed to the final of a European competition is one further than arch-rivals Arsenal managed after they were defeated 3-1 on aggregate against PSG to miss out on the Champions League final.
With Liverpool already having their hands on the Premier League trophy, this leaves Arteta’s side without anything to show for this campaign once more.
Therefore, Spurs fan O’Hara wasted no time in taking to X to rub Arsenal’s noses in it as he posted (8 May): “Winning in European semi-finals isn’t for everyone. Up the Spurs.”
Tottenham need Europa League win to save their season
With Tottenham doing as poorly as they are in the Premier League, even winning a trophy this season will not be enough to paper over the cracks and could still lead to Postecoglou getting the sack in north London.
However, the boss has been adamant about his ability to win a trophy in his second season with a club and if he could achieve it, it would certainly give supporters something to smile about after a torrid term.
What’s more, with supporters like O’Hara not holding back in their jibes at Arsenal, they will certainly be hoping that nothing can come back to bite them.
If the Lilywhites can secure Champions League football next season, it will no doubt provide a boost when it comes to making deals in the summer transfer window and could prove to be a big difference in the immediate direction Tottenham goes.
