Jamie O’Hara apologises to Ange Postecoglou as he’s called ‘coward’ on talkSPORT

Ange Postecoglou has been a divisive figure at Tottenham this season.

There is no debate over the fact that the Lilywhites have had a failure of a campaign in the Premier League, sitting 17th in the table.

However, whether Postecoglou, Daniel Levy or the players are the main party at fault for the failures on the pitch has been discussed by many.

Tottenham supporter Jamie O’Hara has often criticised all three throughout the season, arguing that responsibility has to be taken by everyone at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

O’Hara apologises to Postecoglou live on talkSPORT

Although there is certainly responsibility to be taken by all parties at Spurs, Postecoglou has often come under criticism for avoiding taking the blame.

His side has struggled with injuries, which have undoubtedly had an effect on results.

However, the 59-year-old’s preferred style of play and lack of willingness to deviate has also cost his side at times, but he has seldom acknowledged that.

Levy has a big decision ahead of him, as he decides whether a trophy is enough to keep Postecoglou in his post as manager or not.

O’Hara certainly seems to have changed his tune on the Australian, though.

Speaking live on talkSPORT after the victory against Manchester United (21 May, 23:08), O’Hara said: “I think there’s something I’ve got to do. I want to apologise to Ange.”

Jason Cundy replied immediately, stating: “You coward.”

Nevertheless, the Tottenham supporter stood by his changed perspective and continued: “Big Ange deserves an apology. I’m going to apologise to Ange because this season I’ve given him some stick.”

Levy has big Postecoglou call to make

Levy will have felt a massive sense of relief watching Tottenham pick up a trophy, although his decision over the managerial position would have been much easier if his team had lost.

Postecoglou promised to win a trophy in his second season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he has delivered on doing so.

However, league form this season has been far from acceptable and with the Champions League to think about next season too, Levy can’t afford to have the wrong man in place going into the campaign.

In the manager’s defence, he has received a fair bit of stick this season and as the man who has to be at the forefront, it has been more than experienced by the players, so the apology from O’Hara seems fair.

That doesn’t mean that all the cracks can be papered over, though, and this may be Postecoglou’s way of going out on a high.
