Jamie O’Hara in disbelief at name mentioned to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure, with numerous names already being touted as options to replace him.
Postecoglou’s team selection for his side’s 2-0 loss to Fulham on the weekend was questioned by Wayne Rooney, who appeared on Match of the Day 2 as a pundit.
Meanwhile, Spurs have already set their sights on Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham’s Marco Silva in preparation for the potential sacking of their current boss.
Tottenham’s defeat on Sunday left them 14th in the Premier League, and now 10 points adrift of a top-half spot which supporters should be able to take for granted.

O’Hara baffled as Ryan Mason is namedropped in Postecoglou replacement race
A Tottenham supporter called GJ phoned talkSPORT [17 March, 23:09] and said that he would like to see Postecoglou sacked immediately, and replaced by former Spurs interim boss Ryan Mason, who is currently on the club’s coaching team.
Host O’Hara replied: “Oh do me a favour, GJ, come on. I like Ryan Mason. I played with Ryan, and he’s a great lad. But come on.”

Postecoglou needs to continue Europa League progress to retain Tottenham job
Spurs are enduring a largely woeful domestic campaign, and alongside their Premier League struggles they faced an early FA Cup exit when they were defeated by Aston Villa on 9 February, just three days on from their humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Opponent | Result |
AZ Alkmaar (A) | 1-0 L |
Bournemouth (H) | 2-2 D |
AZ Alkmaar (H) | 3-1 W |
Fulham (A) | 2-0 L |
But Tottenham’s season, and hopes of clinching silverware, have been kept alive by their continued progress in the Europa League.
Postecoglou’s men reached the quarter-final stages of the competition thanks to their 3-1 win over Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar last Thursday.
Spurs are set to lock horns with Bundesliga high-flyers Frankfurt in the last eight stage, which could prove to be a difficult assignment.
Postecoglou’s job seems relatively safe for now, but failure to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League could be enough to see the Tottenham boss sacked.
The North London giants have already identified Fulham boss Silva and Bournemouth’s Iraola as potential replacements for the Australian.
