James Maddison sends message after Tottenham win v Brentford, picks MOTM

James Maddison has congratulated Tottenham after their 2-0 win at Brentford on Sunday.

Spurs have been in a poor run of form over the last couple of months and even found themselves 16th in the Premier League table after Everton beat Leicester 4-0 on Saturday.

However, they seemed to find a new gear in their victory over the Bees on 2 February with Maddison sharing his thoughts on the game via X (2 February).

“So proud of the boys watching that away performance. Djed Spence MOTM by a country mile,” he wrote.

Tottenham need to build on this win against Brentford

While nobody thought that Tottenham would be relegated from the Premier League this season, if their form continued going in a downward spiral, it felt like that was the way they were heading.

Fans have been calling for Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou to dip their toes into the market and bring in some reinforcements as soon as possible.

Eventually, their pleading was finally heard after the North London club announced the transfer of Kevin Danso before the game.

There’s still plenty of the 2024/25 season left for things to turn around at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and plenty of time for Postecoglou to rectify the poor form his team have shown this season.

However, if they don’t manage to build upon this win over Thomas Frank’s men over their next few games, it feels like they could find themselves back to square one sooner than they’d like.

Which, to be quite frank, would be far from ideal for any of the involved parties.
