James Maddison ‘done’ at Tottenham after what happened at Goodison Park

Tottenham supporters believe James Maddison is “done” after the poor performance he put in against Everton in their Premier League defeat on Sunday.

The game ended 3-2 in the Toffees’ favour with David Moyes earning his first win as Everton’s new manager.

Spurs have now dropped to 15th in the Premier League and are 10 points away from the top half of the top-flight table.

Maddison, along with the likes of Son Heung-min and others, put in rather a poor performances and that has resulted in frustrated fans calling for their heads.

James Maddison could be finished at Tottenham

This season, fans have often called for Ange Postecoglou to start Maddison more often than he has but after his performance against Everton on 19 January, it feels like he hindered the team more than he helped.

While his talent is still evident and his creative nature is a force to be reckoned with, the Englishman should have done far better against a relegation-threatened side.

The former Leicester City man’s poor performance caused one fan to say that the midfielder is “done” at Tottenham, while another said that his heart “looks like it’s elsewhere”.

At the moment, it’s unclear where Tottenham stand regarding the future of Postecoglou at the North London club, but if he’s set to stay on, some massive changes are going to have to be made in the near future.

So, even though the sale of someone such as Maddison might not be an ideal situation for Spurs to find themselves in during the summer, it could be the best move for them to make a fresh start.
