Ivan Perisic close to Tottenham exit, Hadjuk Split move on cards – Gianluca Di Marzio
Ivan Perisic is to tear up his Tottenham contract and make a return to Croatia with Hadjuk Split, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The veteran winger moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the 2022-23 season to link up with Antonio Conte, who he worked with at Inter.
However, it looks as though he will not feature under Ange Postecoglou, and instead return to Hadjuk where he was once part of the youth set-up.
Writing on Twitter, Di Marzio posted: “Ivan #Perisic is close to returning to Croatia with @hajduk.
“He should terminate his contract with @SpursOfficial soon in order to complete the move. #THFC @SkySport.”
A move that makes sense
Ivan Perisic has been the ultimate professional throughout his career and he was a signing that really suited the mould of Antonio Conte.
A real workhorse, with a great engine who will give his all the team. There can be never be any doubt about the commitment of Perisic.
But, at 34, his days are probably best behind him now. Moreover, Postecoglou is going to want to play a high-press, high-octane style at Spurs and Perisic maybe does not fit the profile of player he will need for the upcoming campaign.

A return to Croatia with Hadjuk gives him the opportunity to see how his playing days back in his home country, and he has certainly had a career to be proud of.
He has won league titles with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Inter, and was a Champions League winner with Bayern back in 2020. He was also a runner-up with Croatia at the 2018 World Cup.
In other Tottenham news, star striker Harry Kane is in no hurry to sign a new Spurs contract.
