Igor Tudor could be 48 hours from Tottenham sack as blame game begins – ‘Ridiculous’

Chris Sutton believes that Igor Tudor could be sacked if Tottenham lose to Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.

Tudor has lost both of his two games in charge of Spurs so far, a 4-1 defeat at home to Arsenal and a 2-1 loss away at Fulham last Sunday.

The former Juventus boss has failed to improve the situation since taking over from Thomas Frank, and the Lilywhites are now in real danger of being relegated.

Tudor has come in on an interim basis until the end of the season, but there are already rumours that he could be dismissed earlier than that if Tottenham’s struggles continue.

Igor Tudor is taking no responsibility at Tottenham

Tudor has been very outspoken in his press conferences so far at Tottenham, clearly outlining some of the issues around the club.

The Croatian has criticised his predecessor, Frank, on a number of occasions, and hasn’t shied away from publicly slamming his players either.

Sutton believes that the Tottenham squad could react in the wrong way to the ‘tough love’ shown by Tudor.

The former Premier League winner also added that the interim manager at Spurs doesn’t take any responsibility and has blamed everyone but himself.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Sutton said: “He really worries me, Igor Tudor. He doesn’t take any responsibility himself. He has blamed absolutely everybody in the two games he has had as manager, apart from himself.

“After the Fulham game, he has basically called every part of his team useless. That’s tough love, and I’m not so sure how these Tottenham players will react to this.”

Sutton even claimed that Tudor could face the sack if Spurs lose to Crystal Palace, despite it only being his third game in charge.

“It might sound ridiculous, but this could be a guy who is in for three games. If they lose to Palace at home, he could be gone.”

Can Tottenham end awful Premier League run?

Tottenham are yet to win a single Premier League game in 2026, and on form, they are currently the worst team in the division.

Across their last 10 matches, the North London side have picked up just four points.

Van de Ven stats

In some positive news for Spurs, Crystal Palace are the last team they beat in the Premier League, and they face the Eagles once again on Thursday evening.

Tottenham will hope they can replicate their win at Selhurst Park, which was over two months ago now, as Oliver Glasner’s side make the trip to North London.
