Harry Redknapp names Archie Gray and other Spurs player he can’t wait to see

Tottenham are preparing to kick off their Premier League season against Burnley on Saturday.

The Lilywhites have gone through somewhat of a transformation over the summer, including the appointment of new manager Thomas Frank.

They’ve signed Mohammed Kudus, brought in Palhinha on loan, while other big names are still being targeted in the transfer window.

These changes have been made in a bid to improve their 17th-place finish in last season’s Premier League.

Redknapp tips Gray and Bergvall to star for Tottenham this season

Most people would agree that Tottenham underperformed under Ange Postecoglou last season.

They have a squad capable of finishing far higher than 17th in the Premier League, and several pundits have tipped them to do far better this season.

Harry Redknapp believes that the North London side have enough to finish in the top six this season.

In an interview with talkSPORT, he suggested that young stars Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall could have a key role to play.

He said: “They’ve certainly got a good squad. The two kids, the lad Gray was probably their best player last year. He played every position, centre-half, right-back, midfield.

“He’s a player, you know, the other young lad as well who came on, Bergvall. Again, he had a great season last year.

“So them two, they’re two kids as well, they’re going to be pushing for places.”

Tottenham’s nightmare season should mean more patience for Thomas Frank

Tottenham ensured a nightmare season under Postecoglou. For a squad with so much talent to finish 17th is unforgivable.

It was an embarrassing ranking that ultimately cost Postecoglou his job despite his triumph in the Europa League.

This disastrous league season should mean that the Tottenham fans and the board are more patient with Frank in his first season.

Spurs have a squad that’s capable of at least challenging to qualify for the Champions League, but a lot of people said the same last season.

They’re typically among the sixth or seventh favourites among the bookmakers to win the Premier League this year.

But, if Frank can get Tottenham playing effective football and showing some clear signs of long-term progress, a lot of fans will be happy.

Some memorable results in the Champions League or a deep run in one of the domestic cups will be welcomed too.
