Daniel Levy to be overpowered with Postecoglou sack decision at Tottenham – Harry Redknapp
Harry Redknapp does not believe manager Ange Postecoglou is under immediate threat of the sack at Tottenham.
Spurs entered the international break on the back of a 2-1 home loss to previously winless Ipswich Town, leaving them 10th in the Premier League.
Tottenham’s inconsistency has raised doubts over Postecoglou’s position, but ex-boss Redknapp does not expect chairman Daniel Levy to pull the trigger.
Should results continue the way they are, though, Redknapp pointed out that it may not be Levy himself who has the final say.
“I think he’ll be okay,” Redknapp said on talkSPORT [19 November, 8:24am] when asked about Postecoglou.
“You can’t keep going through managers – they’ve gone through too many. Daniel’s got a reputation that’s far worse than what he deserves. He’s pretty laid back about it.
“If results do go bad, he’s obviously got Joe Lewis as well – he’s involved as well and is very powerful. He’s probably more ready to pull the trigger than Daniel is.”
What is the latest with Joe Lewis and Tottenham?
British billionaire and former Tottenham owner Joe Lewis avoided a jail sentence earlier this year after admitting his part in insider trading [Sky News, 4 April].
Lewis held a majority stake in Tottenham for over two decades, but his shareholding is now owned by a trust on behalf of his family.
Quite how much input they have is unclear, and it is thought that Levy is still the man who calls the shots around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, Levy – and indeed anyone else involved in the top decision-making – will hope they do not have a call to make on Postecoglou any time soon.

It must be remembered that Spurs are still just three points off the Champions League places and are into the EFL Cup quarter-finals, where Manchester United await.
The inconsistent nature of Tottenham’s performances from one game to the next is massively frustrating, but supporters need to ensure they get fully behind Ange in the hope of some success down the line.
