Gabby Agbonlahor shocked as Tottenham odds for Europa League title revealed
Gabby Agbonlahor was shocked to hear Tottenham are still favourites to lift the Europa League title this season.
After six matches, Ange Postecoglou’s side are sitting ninth in the Europa League table, just one place outside of the automatic spots ahead of their clash away to Hoffenheim on Thursday 23 January.
The Australian is under a tremendous amount of pressure after a horrendous run of results at Hotspur Way, with travelling supporters beginning to turn on the manager and Daniel Levy.
Speaking live via talkSPORT [23 January, 8:26am], Agbonlahor asked: “Are Spurs still the favourites to win the competition?”
Having been told that Spurs are still 9/2 favourites to lift the Europa League trophy, and also asked if he would back a bet, the former Aston Villa striker said: “Still? What? No, thanks!”
Ange Postecoglou to lead Tottenham to Europa League glory?
With Spurs still in the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, their results in the Premier League seem to be somewhat of a phenomenon, but that has not stopped the fans from revolting.
Levy has already been tipped to pull the trigger on Postecoglou’s time in North London, with the owner often taking the spotlight off him by sacking the manager, and the same could happen this time.
The Lilywhites have now lost back-to-back Premier League matches against Arsenal and Everton, with the trip to Goodison Park infuriating the travelling supporters, who spent their hard-earned money to get there.

With fans now travelling across to Germany to watch their side take on Hoffenheim, Levy might find it difficult to keep Postecoglou in the job if Spurs are unable to get a result against the Bundesliga strugglers.
Hoffenheim have just one victory in their last 10 matches across all competitions, but considering how unreliable Spurs have been this season, nobody can quite predict what will happen on Thursday night.
In other Tottenham news, Everton have made an approach to sign an ex-Spurs player who Mauricio Pochettino compared to Lionel Messi.
