Fabrizio Romano shares double Tottenham transfer update as Galatasaray close on Tanguy Ndomble and Davinson Sanchez
Tottenham have reached an agreement with Galatasaray for the sale of Tanguy Ndombele, with the Frenchman already completing the first part of his medical, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian transfer guru, taking to his personal Twitter account (4 September) shared that an agreement has been struck between the two parties on a loan-to-buy deal with Ndombele expected to fly to Istanbul to seal his move.
Romano also shared on Monday that Davinson Sanchez’s move to Galatasaray is in the advanced stages and will be a permanent transfer.
He tweeted: “Tanguy Ndombele to Galatasaray, here we go! Agreement with Tottenham in place over loan deal.
“Ndombele has already completed first part of medical tests and he’ll fly to Istanbul later today.
“Buy option clause also included.”
Romano added on Sanchez’ expected move: “Davinson Sánchez to Galatasaray will be a permanent transfer, but final details are still being ironed out now.”
Postecoglou exit desires clear
With Tottenham making a superb start to their Premier League campaign under new boss Ange Postecoglou, there’s still some considerable work to be done on the squad, even after the close of the transfer window.
And much of that work will be a number of exits with Sanchez and Ndombele the most likely candidates to depart. With the Turkish transfer window still open, both players are now drawing ever closer to their long-awaited Spurs exits with Postecoglou holding a keen desire to trim his squad.

Colombia international Sanchez remains one of the most expensive signings in Spurs’ history but it’s fair to say that he hasn’t really lived up to his price tag and even his showings so far this campaign have left a lot to be desired.
Sanchez has played 142 times for Tottenham in the Premier League with only 18 appearances coming last season. He started just eight times in 2022/23, suggesting that the club could really do without the 27-year-old and, with his contract expiring next year, cashing in while they can is the right call, even if they are to make a significant loss.
The same arguably can’t be said about Ndombele, however, who still has plenty to offer Tottenham.
The likes of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have impressed mightily so far this campaign, while Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who rejected the chance to depart in the transfer window, are also available to Postecoglou.
With Rodrigo Bentancur still to return from injury, the Australian coach will certainly be well-stocked in the middle of the park this summer, especially with no European football to contend with, which suggests Ndombele may have to seek pastures new.
It will be sad to see the Frenchman depart the club given his unproven but undoubted qualities, but it’s a necessary evil right now for Postecoglou to streamline his bloated squad. There may still be a future for him, though.
