Fabio Paratici disagrees with Thomas Frank sack latest at Tottenham before exit

Fabio Paratici is expected to depart Tottenham at the end of the January transfer window.

Paratici will return to Italy and join Fiorentina, leaving the North London side just three months after coming back in as sporting director.

The 53-year-old originally resigned from Spurs back in 2023, after being slapped with a 30-month ban by FIFA, but the Lilywhites stood by the Italian and reappointed him last October.

There are just weeks remaining until he leaves Tottenham for the second time, but it has been revealed that Paratici is firmly against the current stance on sacking Thomas Frank.

Fabio Paratici did not want Thomas Frank appointment

Frank completed his move from Brentford to Tottenham over the summer, but his time in charge of the North London outfit has been a disaster.

Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League, and the supporters are firmly against the Dane due to the poor results and unattractive style of play.

According to The Athletic, Paratici never believed that Frank was the right fit for Tottenham and wanted to make his own decision regarding a new manager.

However, the clear view of the hierarchy is that they are going to stick with the 52-year-old, despite all the evidence against it.

Instead, it will be Paratici who is the one to depart, with the official line being that he is returning to Italy for family reasons.

How long will Thomas Frank last at Tottenham?

Back in October, not many people could have foreseen that Paratici would be leaving Tottenham before Frank.

It has proved to be the case, though, and Paratici’s exit will surely just strengthen the Dane’s position going forward.

Despite all the noise around Frank and his potential dismissal, he still crucially maintains the backing of the Spurs hierarchy, meaning that he will be afforded more time to turn the situation around.

Changes are needed quickly, though, with Tottenham now out of the FA Cup after being beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa and struggling in the Premier League.

However much support Frank has within the club, results will dictate, and there will come a point where his position is no longer sustainable.
