Ex-Spurs Scout: Fulham player ratings v Tottenham – Paulinha disappoints, Leno thrives
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent six years as a senior scout at Spurs and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent eight years on Everton’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells.
Tottenham moved to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 home win against Fulham on Monday 23 October.
Goals from Son Heung-min and James Maddison were enough to seal all three points for the home side, who now sit two points clear at the top of the league.
It leaves Tottenham unbeaten after nine league matches with a trip to Crystal Palace up next.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King watched on for Tottenham News and provided his player ratings for the visitors on the evening.
Bernd Leno – 7/10
“He kept them in the game, especially early on when he saved Son’s strike. Couldn’t be faulted for either goal, it was great finishing from Spurs.”
Timothy Castagne – 6/10
Calvin Bassey – 5/10
“He struggled, he gave the ball away in dangerous positions.”

Tim Ream – 5/10
“Nothing notable from his performance, a pretty poor showing.”
Antonee Robinson – 7/10
“I quite liked him, he pushed on and made some tackles early on.”
Sasa Lukic – 6/10
“Certainly wouldn’t get into Tottenham’s team.”
Jao Palhinha – 6/10
“I expected more from him.”

Andreas Pereira – 5/10
“Hardly got in the game.”
Bobby De Cordova-Reid – 5/10
Willian – 6/10
“A good player who always has been, but he is a moody player. He reminds me of Richarlison, he can either be brilliant or frustrating and at times he looked brilliant, but for the most part he was frustrating.”
Carlos Vinicius – 5/10
“Never got in the game, he kept running into trouble, often making one touch too many. He looked very ordinary.”

Subsitutes
Raul Jiminez – 5/10
“He had a great chance at the death which he could have done better with. His movement was quite good, you can see he can play, but he didn’t quite get the right service.”
Alex Iwobi – 5/10
“Never really got in the game, was well looked after by Spurs’ defence.”
Harry Wilson – 5/10
Harrison Reed – N/A
Tom Cairney – N/A
