Emmanuel Petit in hysterics as Arsenal legend shares ‘worrying’ Tottenham claim
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has admitted he feels “pity” for Tottenham supporters as a result of the club’s recent form.
Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered their 12th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday (19 January) as they were beaten 3-2 by Everton at Goodison Park – with the Premier League called out after one error they made in the match.
However, despite Spurs winning just one of their last 10 games in the Premier League, the club plan to stick by Postecoglou [via Football London, 20 January], although Petit believes the manager looks “miserable” in North London.
While discussing Spurs’ recent form live on Monday Night Football, the Arsenal legend couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Once he composed himself, Petit said [via Sky Sports Premier League on X, 20 January], “What is worrying me the most is when I watch them, it is the body language, the organisation.
“On top of that, when I look at Postecoglou – and I have respect for him, to be honest with you – I feel pity because he looks so miserable. For me, when I look at Spurs, I feel pity for the Spurs fans to be honest.”
Ange Postecoglou must turn things around at Tottenham
It feels as though Tottenham supporters just can’t catch a break at the moment. Fresh off a disappointing defeat at Goodison Park, fans now have to contend with an Arsenal legend laughing at them live on Sky Sports.
Therefore, it is clear that Postecoglou needs to turn things around and turn things around quickly.
While Spurs plan to stick by the 59-year-old for now, things can change fast in football – especially with the likes of Massimiliano Allegri waiting in the wings.
However, after what Petit has said, the question is do Postecoglou or the Spurs players have it in them to turn things around over the coming weeks.
In other Tottenham news, Darren Bent has torn Postecoglou apart after a “bizarre” decision.
