The club have also got a boost as his price tag has dropped to £50million as contract talks with Juventus have reached an impasse.

While not a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane, his ability to play off the last defender suits Postecoglou’s preference for dynamic forwards, potentially having him playing alongside Dominic Solanke too.
