Dion Dublin rages as footage emerges of Lucas Bergvall in Tottenham loss v Wolves

Dion Dublin was left completely baffled by what he saw from Lucas Bergvall as Tottenham fell to a 4-2 defeat against Wolves on Sunday.

The Lilywhites suffered yet another humiliating defeat on 13 April, despite second-half goals from Mathys Tel and Richarllison.

This was not a good look for Ange Postecoglou once again as pressure continues to build ahead of the Frankfurt clash in the Europa League on Thursday (17 April).

With that being said, it is fair to say the Australian has been let down by his players, with Dublin picking out Bergvall after a baffling substitute appearance.

Dublin tears into Bergvall after Wolves error

The teenage midfielder has been a breath of fresh air in what has been a dismal season for Spurs on all fronts.

After coming in from Djurgarden, the 19-year-old has already shown the quality he possesses alongside Archie Gray despite their youthful nature.

Perhaps that was on show in a negative sense against Wolves in the 4-2 defeat as Mateus Cunha came off the bench to score the final goal of the game on 86 minutes.

This came as Bergvall ran directly into the path of the Brazilian, who went on to curl an effort beyond Guglielmo Vicario with ease.

It is safe to say that this moment from the Swede left Dublin baffled on Match of the Day 2 (13 April) as he cut off Danny Murphy as the footage played.

He said: “Where’s Bergvall going here? Why’s he going into his mate? Then he’s gone into Cunha. I can’t believe what he’s doing”

Bergvall must move on after Tottenham mistake

There is no doubt that the youngster has been one of the Lilywhites’ best players this season, regardless of his age and lack of experience.

It says a lot that the Sweden international has outshone the likes of Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr despite being in his debut campaign.

As a result, it will come as a blow to see him make such an error, but ultimately, it didn’t change the game as Spurs were destined to lose regardless.

Now Postecoglou has to be hopeful that the teen will be able to put this gaffe behind him and maintain his form in North London moving into the new season.
