Didier Deschamps new favourite to be Tottenham manager as sack confirmed
Didier Deschamps is now the joint-favourite to replace Ange Postecoglou as the next Tottenham manager, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
BetVictor have installed the 56-year-old as the 8/1 front-runner alongside Kieran McKenna and Gareth Southgate after he confirmed that he’s stepping down as France’s manager after the 2026 World Cup [Guardian].
Graham Potter was previously the favourite. However, with West Ham United sacking Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday (8 July), the ex-Chelsea manager is now set to take charge at the London Stadium.
Potter’s imminent lack of availability has led to a shift in the odds with Deschamps being listed as the joint-favourite to take charge after Postecoglou, even though he’s not going to be leaving his role as the France manager for another 18 months.
Will Tottenham sack Ange Postecoglou?
Postecoglou’s survived a lot worse than what some of his predecessors had done before they were dismissed by Daniel Levy.
We’re around a quarter of the way through January and Spurs are 12th in the Premier League, closer to the relegation zone than they are the top four.
It cannot continue this way with Levy seemingly clinging onto the fact that Postecoglou could still deliver silverware at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.

Spurs play against Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final in North London on Wednesday night.
Win that and things will start to look up again for Postecoglou.
However, between that game and a North London derby at the Emirates next Wednesday (15 January), there’s a potential banana skin in their FA Cup third-round clash against Tamworth at The Lamb.
Lose that and Postecoglou is surely a goner.
