Destiny Udogie injury news emerges ahead of Tottenham v Manchester United
Tottenham are continuing to struggle with an injury crisis ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Red Devils travel to North London on 16 February a week after Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Aston Villa.
Goals from Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers were enough to secure a 2-1 win against a Lilywhites side who were forced to feature three academy talents on the bench.
Looking ahead to a return to Premier League action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Ange Postecoglou has been handed a fresh update.
Tottenham receive Destiny Udogie injury boost
There is no doubt that this season has been hampered heavily by injuries with a whole starting XI worth of players currently ruled out.
This left Spurs with just one fit centre-back against Villa while also not having a truly recognised striker with Dominic Solanke ruled out.
With that being said, it is about time that Postecoglou had some luck and that is exactly what he has got ahead of a clash with Ruben Amorim’s men.
The Lilywhites appear to be ready to welcome Destiny Udogie back from a long-term hamstring issue for the United game, according to Tom Barclay.
The Sun journalist reported on 10 February that the Italy international is hopeful of being involved in North London despite going nearly two months without playing.
This could be the exact boost that Spurs have been crying out for, especially after such a disappointing defeat in the FA Cup.
Destiny Udogie could feature for Tottenham v Manchester United
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old has been well missed in N17 since suffering an injury against Wolves at the end of December.
It felt as if the defender would be absent for a lot longer and, as a result, it is even more of a boost to welcome him back this weekend.
With that being said, it will represent a blow for Djed Spence who has been one of the bright sparks in a dark campaign in North London.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Postecoglou manages to balance his squad but on the flip side, depth can only be a boost for the Australian after such a turbulent period.
