Destiny Udogie bombshell: Tottenham star ruled out for months as timeline emerges
Destiny Udogie will miss up to 10 weeks of action in a bitter injury blow for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Paul O’Keefe.
The Spurs insider posted on X (1 January) with the latest update on the left-back, who was forced off five minutes into the second half of the 2-2 draw with Wolves (29 December) with a hamstring injury.
The prognosis on the setback indicates Udogie, 22, could spend over two months on the sidelines at a particularly difficult time when Ange Postecoglou needs as many of his first-choice stars as possible.
O’Keefe stated late on Wednesday afternoon: “Destiny Udogie timeline for return is estimated at 6-10 weeks.”
Destiny Udogie setback dejects Tottenham even further
With the initial fear on Udogie coming at a potential absence of six weeks, the news it could be an extra month on top is bitterly disappointing for Postecoglou.
The injury update could derail Tottenham’s January transfer plans, too, with Sergio Reguilon – a forgotten man in North London who replaced Udogie against Wolves – potentially seeing his mooted return to Brentford [Sunday People, 29 December] now cancelled.
Ben Davies also remains out alongside first-choice central defensive pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, with Postecoglou pitying how his side’s season has veered off course.

Tottenham are strongly anticipated to strengthen their squad this month and this injury news reinforces that expectation, with fans in increased uproar over their side’s dwelling in the bottom half of the Premier League into the New Year.
Udogie has played 18 times in the league this season, starting all of these matches with one assist and four clean sheets.
In other Tottenham news, the rumour mill resumes with a potential new destination for Son Heung-min to join a former Spurs teammate.
