Daniel Levy told to resign ‘as Tottenham eye swift deal’ for Premier League ace

Tottenham supporters have urged Daniel Levy to resign after news of a proposed move for Southampton ace Tyler Dibling emerged.

RB Leipzig are pushing hard to sign the Southampton starlet in the winter transfer window, but Spurs are believed to have held “concrete talks” with the player’s entourage [Florian Plettenberg].

However, Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law provided the latest update on the saga on Monday (27 January), revealing Levy will push to get a deal over the line for Dibling before the window slams shut on 3 February.

The 18-year-old is undoubtedly a talented prospect, but some supporters have taken their outrage to social media.

Tottenham supporters don’t want Tyler Dibling

In an ideal world, Dibling would be an excellent long-term signing for Tottenham, but the current state of affairs in North London leaves no time for future planning.

Spurs are in 15th place and only six points clear of the relegation zone following the 2-1 loss against Leicester City on Sunday (26 January) – the pressure is building on Ange Postecoglou.

Therefore, the supporters have taken to social media to mock Levy for choosing to bolster an injury-ridden squad with a teenager enjoying his first season in the top flight.

One supporter posted: “Levy Out”, while another took a sarcastic swipe at Levy, writing: “Need a player for the first team now? How about another small boy for the future, in the summer?”

Another suggested a move to North London would be a “horrendous” career choice for Dibling.

While another supporter simply asked: “How is a injured player going to help us right now? We are getting relegated, wake up Levy.”

The general consensus is there for all to see: a currently injured 18-year-old will not be the saviour Postecoglou needs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It has been a massively underwhelming winter transfer window for Spurs, and with seven days left until the deadline, Levy must move fast to sign a player ready to make an immediate impact.
