Spurs are ready to make Romero their highest-paid player, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reports (11 February) that the North Londoners are willing to make the centre-back a bumper offer to secure him on a long-term contract.
It has been claimed that the Lilywhites and the Argentine defender’s representatives are already in talks.
But Tottenham will have to convince the 26-year-old, who is frustrated with the lack of progress in N17 since his arrival from Atalanta.

Romero is not the only centre-back on the sidelines, as Spurs have been without Micky van de Ven for a considerable period as well.
The Dutchman returned to the starting lineup against Elfsborg in the Europa League as the North Londoners won 3-0 on 30 January.
