Chris Sutton sends message to Postecoglou after Tottenham win v Frankfurt
Chris Sutton directed a message to Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham secured a Europa League win against Frankfurt on Thursday.
Spurs continued their progress on the European stage with a much-needed 1-0 victory against the Bundesliga outfit on 17 April.
The North Londoners have Dominic Solanke to thank for his first-half penalty kick, which ultimately sealed a place in the final four for Spurs.
This may ease some pressure on Postecoglou, who has now received a message from Sutton on social media directly after full time in Germany.

Sutton delighted for Postecoglou in Tottenham win
There is no doubt that the Australian had to pick up a win in the Europa League to help maintain his job in N17.
The former Celtic boss has come under severe pressure throughout the season as his side sits 15th in the Premier League and could finish as low as 17th if results don’t go their way in the coming weeks.
Position | Club | Games played | Tottenham | Points |
15. | Tottenham | 32 | +11 | 37 |
16. | Wolves | 32 | -14 | 35 |
17. | West Ham | 32 | -18 | 35 |
As a result, every ounce of pressure is now set to fall on the Europa League as silverware could prove to be the only way for Postecoglou to save his job.
With that being said, he has taken a step in the right direction with a huge win over Frankfurt in Germany to take his side to the final four of the competition.
This is unlikely to put a total end to any opposition to the 59-year-old, but Sutton believes it will silence it for at least a day.
Taking to X at full-time (17 April), he said: “Great and deserved result for Big Ange. It will keep the haters quiet for 24 hours.”
Postecoglou saves himself some time at Tottenham
The Aussie head coach has done himself very little favours this season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, regardless of any injury problems.
Spurs have gone without the likes of Solanke, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven for months at a time throughout the campaign.
With that being said, the Lilywhites still should have struck a better level of form throughout the year compared to what has been on show.
As a result, supporters are unlikely to get too carried away with the Europa League win, even with a semi-final clash coming up in May.
Sutton may be behind Postecoglou, but there may be very few left in North London who feel the same way.
