Chelsea player told he can get Ange Postecoglou sacked v Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou could face the sack at Tottenham Hotspur courtesy of Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer, according to Rory Jennings.

Jennings, speaking live on talkSPORT [7 December, 8:49pm], boasted that Palmer’s performance for the in-form Blues in North London on Sunday (8 December) could cost the Spurs boss his job.

Tottenham’s glaring inconsistency came to the fore in midweek as fans raged at the Australian after the 1-0 defeat by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium [5 December].

“I’m looking forward to seeing Cole Palmer destroy Tottenham,” Jennings beamed live on air.

“Palmer is going to get Ange Postecoglou the sack, isn’t he? He’s got to go down as Pep Guardiola’s biggest-ever mistake, imagine the link-up between Palmer and Erling Haaland.”

Tottenham must turn the tide against on-fire Chelsea

The judgement of Tottenham ahead of Sunday’s London derby in N17 is essentially the uncertainty of which Spurs will turn up.

If Postecoglou’s men put in the admirably dominant kind of performance that saw them tear through Manchester City at the Etihad recently, Chelsea and Enzo Maresca are in trouble.

Should they show any signs of weakness like at Bournemouth and at home to Fulham or Ipswich Town, however, then Palmer et al will be salivating.

It seems longer than a mere season ago when one of the Premier League’s most bizarre contests took place – you know, the one in which Spurs probably should have beaten Chelsea with nine men but wound up on the end of a 4-1 defeat.

This particular game threw Palmer into recognition, alongside an unpolished Nicolas Jackson – both of whom have been enjoying their football of late far too much for any Spurs fan to relax come Sunday afternoon.
