Brentford worried as Tottenham sources share new Thomas Frank appointment update

Tottenham are still yet to make a decision over their managerial situation, but could still part ways with Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou has led Tottenham to Europa League glory, with this trophy their first in 17 years, but it was also coupled with one of their worst-ever league seasons.

Tottenham became the first team in Premier League history to lose 22 games but avoid relegation, a simply unacceptable record despite the triumph in Bilbao.

If Postecoglou is replaced, several managers are on Tottenham’s radar, including Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Tottenham interested in Frank amid Postecoglou uncertainty

With Spurs reportedly ready to dismiss Postecoglou regardless of his Europa League success, Frank could now be targeted to replace him.

Brentford finished 10th in the Premier League despite losing top scorer Ivan Toney last season, and Frank has built a side which has impressed both going forward and at the back.

Brentford had a better domestic season than Spurs

TBR Football have now reported that Brentford are worried about potentially losing Frank, with sources saying figures at Tottenham are huge admirers of the 51-year-old.

Frank is not the only manager on Tottenham’s radar, with Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner also on the list, but Brentford’s worry could indicate that the Dane could be tempted to move across London.

Frank could replace Postecoglou at Tottenham

Frank could improve Tottenham immediately

Frank has done a superb job at Brentford, helping them achieve promotion and instantly becoming a stable Premier League side against the odds.

This is despite Brentford continually losing their best players over the years, with Ollie Watkins and Toney among those who Frank had to replace.

At Brentford, Frank has helped improve players from within, signed and developed stars using smart scouting, and continually adapted his system to get the best out of the resources at his disposal.

This season, he managed to get Brentford scoring 66 goals, with Yoanne Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo stepping up as internal solutions to replace Toney, and should he end up joining Spurs, the prospect of either player following him is an exciting one.

This is certainly one to watch.
