Bergvall sends message as Tottenham star undergoes surgery in new injury update

Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been plagued by injuries this season as Tottenham continue to struggle for results on the pitch.

The Lilywhites are still without Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Brennan Johson, Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison, though Destiny Udogie could return soon.

Injuries have been used as an excuse quite a lot this season, and understandably so with so many key stars out, but the remaining players should still be producing far better results on the pitch.

Another player who Postecoglou has been without is Radu Dragusin, who was filling in for his injured first-choice duo until sustaining his own long-term injury.

Needing to undergo surgery to fix the problem, the centre-back has now written a new message to the supporters after a successful operation, with fans flooding his social media with positive comments.

Radu Dragusin undergoes surgery

Taking to Instagram [11 February], Dragusin wrote: “This morning, I successfully got through the surgery, which went perfectly. I am grateful to the entire medical team for their care and professionalism.

“At the same time, I am thankful for all the messages of encouragement and your continuous support. It’s wonderful to feel this kind of support.

“I will do everything I can to ensure a smooth recovery and come back stronger as soon as possible.”

Lucas Bergvall has been the first of his teammates to send him a message following the operation, responding to the social media post with a heart and flexing muscle emojis.

Lucas Bergvall sets great example at Tottenham

In an otherwise dark campaign for Tottenham, Bergvall has been a shining light on the pitch, showing up his older teammates to take control in the middle of the park.

Both Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur have been slated for some of their recent performances while the young Swede has shown fearlessness and confidence, even if it has ended in disappointment.

Postecoglou continues to trust the 21-year-old and that decision continues to pay off as he gains more experience in midfield while finding his feet as a Premier League footballer.

While it is likely to be a long journey back to full fitness for Dragusin, there is no doubt that if the rest of his teammates are just as supportive, he will never feel alone as he tries to get back on the pitch.

With van de Ven and Romero still both sidelined, the Romanian’s blow has come at the worst time for the Lilywhites but it is still a positive sign to see him sitting up in bed with a smile on his face.
