Barcelona and Juventus want to sign Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso – report

Barcelona and Juventus both want to sign forgotten Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to Tutto Juve.

The Italian website, affiliated with TuttomercatoWeb, reported on 3 November that Xavi has not forgotten about the Argentina international, who could be available for £13million.

The arrival of Ange Postecoglou was said to be the final nail in the coffin for Lo Celso, who has never achieved the expected levels of him in North London.

Ex-Spurs defender Alan Hutton told Tottenham News:

“I don’t see a future moving forward if I’m honest, I think Ange has been great in terms of giving people an opportunity, but I think the kind of writing was on the wall, well has kind of been on the wall for a long time now, it’s just not quite worked, he’s not quite been that fit.

“They were crying out for somebody like him, as in a creative player who can go and maybe see a pass or do something a little bit different, but for whatever reason it’s not worked.

He’s gone out on loan, I think he went to Villarreal, and I think he did not do too badly but coming back to Tottenham, I could never see his future there if I’m totally honest.

They spent a lot of money on him, if they can get £15 million, I’m not so sure, we’ll obviously wait and see but for me, it’s time to move on. He needs to get game time, he needs to start playing again and I just don’t see it at Tottenham moving forward.”
