Arsenal mocked over Gabriel Jesus on talkSPORT after win v Tottenham
Arsenal players coming out with Gabriel Jesus shirts ahead of their game against Tottenham on Wednesday was “cringe”, according to Jason Cundy.
Gunners players showed their support towards Jesus, who has been ruled out for the season after picking up an ACL injury this week, by wearing shirts with his name and number on the back during their warm-up before they went on to beat Spurs 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on 15 January.
Reacting to the game on talkSPORT, Cundy, who remains in support of Ange Postecoglou, said he could not believe what he had seen and went on to brand Arsenal “Cringe FC”.
“Before the game, every single Arsenal player came out with a shirt on with Gabriel Jesus’ name at the top, number nine at the back and said, ‘Stay strong Gabby'”, Cundy said on talkSPORT (15 January, 10:21 pm).
“What’s that all about? Honestly, Cringe FC you lot.”
Jermaine Pennant, though, did not think too much of it and replied: “It’s a bit of support for their teammate, tough injury, out for the season”.
Cundy instantly hit back at Pennant by pointing out that West Ham United players did not do anything similar after Michail Antonio was involved in an unfortunate road traffic accident.
“Oh, come on! Michail Antonio nearly died in a car crash”, Cundy said.
“West Ham played didn’t come out with things like that on their back.”
Ange Postecoglou under pressure after Tottenham loss v Arsenal
As for Tottenham, they will be disappointed to have failed to take any points off Arsenal after taking the lead in the game.
Son Heung-min put the visitors in front 25 minutes into the game, giving them an opportunity to cause an upset at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the joy did not last long as a Dominic Solanke own-goal in the 40th minute saw Mikel Arteta’s side pull level, while Leandro Trossard netted the winner four minutes later.
The result has left Spurs behind West Ham, who changed managers due to poor results this month, in 13th place in the Premier League table.
It is worth noting that no team outside of the relegation zone has lost more games than Tottenham this season.

Therefore, Postecoglou will be under pressure going into the next few games.
A poor result against relegation-battling Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday (19 January) may leave Daniel Levy with no option but to consider replacing Postecoglou.
