Ange Postecoglou targetted by Tottenham faithful after what happened v Leicester

Tottenham supporters could be heard booing Ange Postecoglou’s double substitution against Leicester in the Premier League on Sunday.

Despite losing James Maddison to injury ahead of kick-off, Spurs took the lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 January through Richarlison in the 33rd minute.

However, the Foxes turned things around, scoring twice in the first five minutes of the second half. Postecoglou responded by making a double substitution, taking Richarlison and Pape Matar Sarr off for Mikey Moore and Sergio Reguilón.

And this decision did not go down well among the Spurs faithful, who could be heard booing their own manager’s decision inside the stadium [via Nizaar Kinsella for BBC Sport, 26 January, 3:15 pm].

Tottenham supporters turn on Ange Postecoglou?

Daniel Levy was warned that he would face backlash from Spurs supporters on Sunday, and there were in fact protests against the chairman inside the stadium.

However, it seems as though fans were just as unhappy with Postecoglou as they were with Levy.

While frustration inside the stadium was understandable after a Leicester side who had lost seven games on the bounce took the lead in North London, booing their own manager’s decision was still a bold move from the Spurs faithful.

Many will remember the famous incident which saw Nuno Espírito Santo’s substitutions booed during his time at Tottenham, with the manager sacked shortly after this incident.

Therefore, Postecoglou will no doubt be fearing the worst.
