Ange Postecoglou sack: Tottenham board in ‘Unacceptable’ stance

Tottenham find it “unacceptable” that they’re 15th in the Premier League table under Ange Postecoglou, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet reports (21 January) that the Australian manager is under pressure after losing to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday (20 January).

But the 59-year-old head coach’s job is secure at Spurs with the board fully backing him.

Tottenham continue to struggle under Ange Postecoglou

The Lilywhites have now won just once in their last 10 Premier League fixtures, which should be embarrassing for a club of their size.

While losing the North London derby was a big blow for the fanbase, the loss to Everton was another dagger in their hearts.

The Merseyside outfit are considered one of the teams in the relegation battle but find themselves just four points behind Tottenham.

Postecoglou’s team should now also seemingly be in the conversation to go down to the Championship.

If performances continue to deteriorate in N17, Spurs could be dragged into the drop zone.

While injuries have plagued the Australian manager’s squad, the North London outfit should be doing better.

There’s no excuse for conceding three goals against an Everton side that have been one of the worst in terms of scoring this season.

It’s good to see Levy backing a struggling manager for a change, but the Spurs chief needs to be held accountable for the team’s current situation.

There are only a few weeks left in the winter transfer window and the North Londoners are yet to reinforce their backline despite the apparent need to do so.

In other Tottenham news, a surprise transfer is being readied to sign a player from Chelsea.
