Ange Postecoglou ‘sack sealed at Tottenham’ after Daniel Levy statement
Daniel Levy appears set to sack Ange Postecoglou after a new statement, despite the Australian guiding Tottenham to the UEFA Europa League.
Postecoglou oversaw a 1-0 victory against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May) as Tottenham ended their 17-year trophy drought.
Despite this, Spurs could still finish 17th, which would be their lowest-ever Premier League finish, while the North London club are already guaranteed their lowest-ever points tally in the competition.
The high of a Europa League victory doesn’t appear as though it will be enough to satisfy Daniel Levy, with the 62-year-old releasing a new statement which appears to confirm that Postecoglou will not take charge of Tottenham next season.

Levy does not back Postecoglou in new statement
Spurs’ Europa League victory confirmed a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Therefore, Levy will be looking to ensure Tottenham are as prepared as possible for their return to Europe’s elite competition, and it doesn’t seem as though Postecoglou will be part of that.
Premier League | MP | W | D | L | Pts |
17. Tottenham | 37 | 11 | 5 | 21 | 38 |
This was made abundantly clear in Levy’s regular end-of-season message, published via Spurs’ official website on Sunday (25 May) just hours ahead of the Lilywhites’ final Premier League game of the season against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While thanking the fans and Postecoglou after Tottenham’s Europa League victory, Levy at no point confirmed that the Australian would continue in his role next season.
“I’d like to thank Ange and the players for making this incredible achievement possible, and thanks to all of our amazing staff – there is so much hard work that goes on behind the scenes, and this moment is for everyone to enjoy,” Levy wrote.
“This is one trophy – our clear ambition as a club has always been long-term, sustained success, competing for top honours every year. We have now tasted success, and we are determined to use this as a springboard for more.”

Tottenham must decide Postecoglou’s future
For every day that deliberations on Postecoglou’s future continue, it is a day that crucial moves toward appointing a replacement are not made.
Whether Levy opts to continue with Postecoglou or install someone new, Spurs’ manager will need the time and resources to have a successful season.
Therefore, Tottenham must act quickly if they want to build on this season’s Europa League victory.
