Ange Postecoglou sack: ‘Embarrassing’ Ryan Mason claim emerges at Tottenham

Tottenham asking Ryan Mason to replace Ange Postecoglou would be “hugely embarrassing”, believes Matt Law.

The Telegraph journalist reported on 20 January that the club are desperate to do everything they can to support the Australian.

Even after the 3-2 defeat against Everton on 19 January, the board have not sacked Postecoglou even though Spurs are in 15th place currently.

Law wrote: “Sacking Postecoglou would leave Tottenham in the difficult position of having to decide whether to appoint an immediate successor or give Ryan Mason the interim post for a third time.

“Asking Mason to take over as caretaker again would be hugely embarrassing for Spurs, but there is currently a lack of available managers who are likely to be attractive to them.”

Tottenham must start interviewing new managers

Spurs find themselves at a crossroads, desperately in need of fresh ideas to rejuvenate the team’s performance, especially after their recent defeat against Everton, which has left them languishing in 15th place.

Postecoglou’s tenure, despite the board’s support, seems to have reached its limit in terms of progression for the team.

With the club’s current standing, it’s clear that a new managerial perspective could be pivotal in steering Spurs back towards their competitive ambitions.

Daniel Levy and the board must now take decisive action by initiating a search for a new manager.

This involves conducting thorough interviews with potential candidates who can bring innovative strategies and leadership to the club.

While sacking Postecoglou would be a significant decision, the situation demands a proactive approach to avoid further stagnation.

In other Tottenham news, the club can now secure David Hancko’s transfer at a bargain price as a multi-million twist has emerged in their pursuit.
