Ange Postecoglou sack: Daniel Levy to make ‘Embarrassing’ Tottenham decision
Daniel Levy sacking Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham would be “embarrassing”, Henry Winter says.
The World Soccer journalist believes the Spurs chairman has invested too heavily in the Australian to fire him after the 2-2 draw against Wolves on Sunday (29 December).
It would be humiliating for Levy to pull the plug on the former Celtic manager after 18 months.
Speaking on talkSPORT (30 December, 7:15), Winter said: “I think Daniel Levy has invested a lot emotionally and financially in Ange ball, and it would be embarrassing for him to turn away from Postecoglou now.”
Daniel Levy can’t sack Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Postecoglou was appointed in the North London outfit’s dugout in the summer of 2023 after the failures under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.
The Australian manager has brought a fresh style of play to the Lilywhites after several years of drab football under conservative head coaches.
Spurs have been an exciting outfit to watch under the 59-year-old, but many fans feel he doesn’t have a plan B.
While the North Londoners might be thrilling for the neutrals, the supporters aren’t too pleased with the lack of structure in defence.

The Lilywhites have conceded 28 goals in the Premier League this season and sit in the bottom half of the table ahead of January.
Postecoglou can’t be solely blamed for the leaking backline, as Spurs have been without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies in recent weeks.
Archie Gray has had to play out of position to fill the gap at centre-back, and Radu Dragusin hasn’t been able to step up to the plate when given the opportunity.
Levy would be right to be hesitant about sacking the Australian and needs to back him instead in the upcoming transfer window.
