Ange Postecoglou new contract claim emerges after Tottenham Europa League win

Chris Sutton has issued a verdict on Ange Postecoglou getting a new contract at Tottenham.

The former Chelsea striker was discussing the Europa League and Spurs’ chances of winning the tournament as they’re already through to the quarter-finals.

Postecoglou is also getting a lot of his players back from injury and they recently beat AZ Alkmaar.

Spurs new contract loading for Ange Postecoglou if he wins Europa League – Chris Sutton

Sutton believes that Spurs are now the favourites to win the Europa League as they’re in the final eight of the competition.

He also thinks that Postecoglou will get a new contract at the North London club should he manage to secure the trophy.

Tottenham have not won a trophy since 2008 and it certainly will take the pressure off the Australian who has been in sack danger.

Sutton told the Warm-Up: “Now Ange is getting his players fit. I make them favourites. Van de Ven back. He’s a Rolls Royce. Romero, great defender. Vicario. Ange-ball. New contract for him.”

Daniel Levy would have to hand Ange Postecoglou a new deal at Tottenham

If Tottenham win the Europa League, it would almost certainly secure him a new contract and silence his critics among the fans.

Spurs haven’t lifted a major trophy since 2008 and delivering European silverware would mark a seismic shift, proving Postecoglou’s high-pressing, attacking philosophy can yield results.

Currently, despite a rollercoaster Premier League campaign, his Europa League exploits show promise and Daniel Levy would have to hand him a new deal.

Fans, frustrated by inconsistency, would likely rally behind him, easing pressure from a vocal minority calling for his head.

Moreover, a trophy would bank him significant credit with the board and supporters, offering a buffer if next season starts poorly.

For Postecoglou, it’s a defining chance to cement his legacy at Tottenham.
