Ange Postecoglou dealt fresh injury blow as Tottenham star undergoes tests

Ange Postecoglou cannot catch a break as yet another Tottenham player suffers an injury setback.

Postecoglou’s second season in charge in North London has been derailed by Spurs’ severe injury crisis.

More or less every first-team player has spent time on the sidelines nursing an injury, which has negatively impacted results in the Premier League, while also derailing Spurs’ FA Cup and Carabao Cup ambitions.

And just a matter of days before the first leg of Spurs’ Round of 16 UEFA Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion (6 March), Postecoglou has been dealt a fresh injury blow.

Dejan Kulusevski suffers injury setback at Tottenham

As reported by Sami Mokbel via the Daily Mail (4 March), Dejan Kulusevski is set to spend a spell on the sidelines with a foot injury.

The Swede will certainly miss the clash with AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands as well as the Premier League showdown with high-flying Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (9 March).

Kulusevski has been a key player for Tottenham this season

It remains to be seen whether Kulusevski will feature again before the March international break as he undergoes tests following this latest injury setback.

Postecoglou will be wondering what exactly he has done to deserve this rotten luck.

Just as Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke look to be closing in on a return, which would have meant Spurs would have finally had a fully fit squad for the first time in months, another key player in Kulusevski has suffered an injury setback.

The timing couldn’t be worse either, with the Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar arguably Spurs’ most important game of the season.

Therefore, Postecoglou and Spurs supporters across the country will be keeping their fingers crossed that the 24-year-old can return for the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
