Ange Postecoglou ‘cannot wait’ for Tottenham end with exit mooted
Ange Postecoglou could be waiting for his sack at Tottenham after the defeat against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
Spurs were eliminated from the domestic cup competition after losing 2-1 at Villa Park on Sunday (9 February).
Jacob Ramsey gave the Villans an early lead before Morgan Rogers doubled their lead in the second half.
Mathys Tel scored in the stoppage time, but the Bayern Munich loanee’s striker was a consolation for the North London outfit as they’ve been knocked out of another cup competition.
Ange Postecoglou wants to leave Tottenham after Aston Villa loss
Postecoglou probably can’t wait to leave the Lilywhites sooner rather than later, Andy Dunn says.
The Daily Mirror journalist believes the Australian manager is possibly looking forward to the sack at the North London outfit.
Dunn feels Unai Emery has things to look forward to until the end of the season at Aston Villa, but the same can’t be said about the former Celtic boss in N17.
The journalist wrote in the print edition of the Mirror (10 February, page 48): “With Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio on board, Emery can look forward to the final few months of the season.
“Ange probably can’t wait for it to end.”

Ange Postecoglou sack a matter of time
Postecoglou was evidently on the brink of his seat in the Tottenham dugout after missing the opportunity to make the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Despite taking a one-goal lead into the second leg of the semi-final against Liverpool on 6 February, Spurs put on a horror show as they lost 4-0.
With elimination from the FA Cup, the North London outfit’s fans will rightly demand changes from top to bottom.
The Lilywhites have gone 17 years without a trophy, and it feels unlikely that Postecoglou will be able to win the Europa League this season, considering their recent performances.
Spurs have lost eight of their last 14 fixtures, and the head coach has big questions to ask about his future.
The former Celtic boss has had to tweak his backline due to several fitness issues, which will lead to fingers being pointed towards Daniel Levy.
It must have been disappointing for supporters to see their team wait until the end of the winter transfer window to bolster their backline with Kevin Danso.
Levy has arguably let Postecoglou down, but the Australian will ultimately face the consequences.
