Ange Postecoglou ‘Arrogant’ as he makes new Tottenham refusal

Ange Postecoglou is “arrogant” after his recent statements to the media at Tottenham, Alex Crook says.

The talkSPORT reporter slammed the Australian manager for stating that he was fed up with answering questions about his style of play at the North London club, refusing to talk about it.

Spurs lost their ninth Premier League game this season to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day, and Crook believes the Lilywhites faithful rightfully want to know the 59-year-old’s long-term plans in N17.

Speaking on talkSPORT (27 December), the chief football correspondent said: “It’s very arrogant to come out and say I’m not answering those questions anymore because we’re not asking the questions for talkSPORT, we’re not asking the questions for Sam Matterface and Troy Deeney.

“We’re asking those questions on behalf of the Tottenham fans because they want to know what the long-term plan is. So for him to be dismissive, I think is a really bad look.”

Ange Postecoglou makes new Tottenham refusal in media

Postecoglou is now in his second season in charge of the North Londoners, and fans had high hopes regarding their prospects.

The 2023/24 campaign was a write-off for the former Celtic head coach, as many felt he needed time to implement his ideas at the Lilywhites.

Spurs haven’t made any progress since then, though, and the 59-year-old could find himself out of a job if things don’t improve.

Tottenham have had to deal with injury issues in recent weeks, and the Australian manager could be given the benefit of the doubt as he has had to rely on the centre-back pairing of Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray.

The Spurs faithful expect Postecoglou to tweak the system a bit in light of the personnel change, but he hasn’t done that.

It feels like the head coach doesn’t have a plan B and is unable to bring solidity to the North Londoners.

While the scorelines in most of the Lilywhites’ fixtures of late have been exciting for the neutral to watch, the fans haven’t been pleased with the displays.

The Australian looks to be too reliant on a single approach and needs to find a different solution to pick up points in the coming fixtures.
