Andoni Iraola ‘ready to take over’ at Tottenham after Postecoglou sack news
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is under mounting pressure following the 2-0 defeat at Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs’ loss at Fulham marked their 15th defeat in the Premier League this season, while they sit just 14th in the table with nine games left to go.
If it wasn’t for Tottenham’s continuing progress in the Europa League, it is likely that Postecoglou would have already faced the sack.
Spurs reached the quarter-finals of the European competition with their 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt.

Andoni Iraola could be set to replace Postecoglou at Spurs
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham’s Marco Silva are the leading candidates to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham if he is sacked, according to the Telegraph [17 March].

Bournemouth want to extend Iraola’s contract, but, sources close to his camp report that he would be interested in becoming the next Spurs manager.
The Spaniard is currently under contract with the Cherries until 2026, but Tottenham could be poised to prompt his early exit.

Iraola could be successful for Tottenham
In the event that Spurs opt to acquire the services of Iraola, he could prove to be a strong hire for the North London club.
While Bournemouth are currently enduring a four-game winless run in the Premier League, Iraola has largely done a great job this season, as the Cherries sit just five points below the top-four, and could be poised to compete in a European competition next term.
Iraola has also guided his side to the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they are set to face last year’s finalists Manchester City.
A win over Pep Guardiola’s men in the last eight stage of the FA Cup would strengthen Iraola’s credentials, and surely heighten Tottenham’s interest in him.
Bournemouth have not landed a top-half spot in the Premier League since 2017, so it is easy to see the kind of impact the Spaniard has had in Dorset, and why Spurs would be keen on his services amid their current struggles.
Furthermore, Iraola has already proven he is able to get the best out of Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke when the duo worked together on the south coast.
