Andoni Iraola update emerges amid ‘serious’ Postecoglou sack news at Tottenham
Andoni Iraola has been identified as the preferred option to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
A host of managers have been linked with Spurs in recent months.
Mauricio Pochettino has been pictured with Daniel Levy as speculation swirls over a potential return to North London for the 53-year-old.
Meanwhile, Marco Silva is thought to be willing to accept an offer from Tottenham should it arrive, while Thomas Frank is also a potential option.
However, it looks as though Iraola is the man Tottenham will go after as a “serious” update emerges about Postecoglou.

Postecoglou is in trouble at Tottenham
It has been suggested that Postecoglou is 99 per cent likely to be sacked as Tottenham manager.
And a fresh update has now emerged, with The Athletic reporting on Thursday (27 March) that Postecoglou’s future is in “serious” doubt.
Spurs remain focused on finishing a disappointing season on a high, with a UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie still to play against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Fixture | Date | Venue |
Tottenham v Eintracht Frankfurt | 10 April | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium |
Eintracht Frankfurt v Tottenham | 17 April | Deutsche Bank Park |
However, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, there are question marks over Postecoglou’s long-term future in North London.
Iraola is Spurs’ top target should the Australian be relieved of his duties, while Silva and Frank are reportedly under consideration.
Levy needs to think carefully about next appointment at Tottenham
If Postecoglou is sacked, Levy cannot afford to get his next hire wrong at Tottenham.
Therefore, the Spurs chairman shouldn’t rush into any decisions and must instead carefully consider who he can bring in as a long-term option.
Tottenham have lacked any kind of stability since the days of Pochettino. As a result, there next manager needs to be in it for the long haul.
Iraola has proven he could be a good option. However, there are some question marks over the Spaniard amid “horrendous” Bournemouth developments this season.
