Ally McCoist predicts who’ll win Europa League out of Tottenham and Man United

Tottenham and Manchester United will both shift their attention toward the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have had an underwhelming season and are currently sat 13th in the Premier League.

However, Man United have been equally as poor, level on 33 points with Spurs in England’s top flight but below their rivals from London on goal difference.

Therefore, both teams will be keen to end the season on a high by lifting the UEFA Europa League in May. The competition returns this week, with Manchester United away to Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash on 6 March.

Meanwhile, Spurs will take on AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion at the same time, and Ally McCoist has predicted which of the two sides he expects to win the competition.

The pundit selected Real Madrid to win Europe’s premier competition, while predicting that Tottenham and Chelsea would win the Europa League and Conference League respectively.

Postecoglou needs to prove McCoist right at Tottenham

Postecoglou has come under a lot of pressure this season as a result of Spurs’ poor form.

Therefore, the Australian will be pleasantly surprised to see a pundit in the mainstream media finally backing him and his side, rather than criticising the 59-year-old.

As a result, he must now look to prove McCoist right, and lead Tottenham to European success.
