Ally McCoist amazed at what he saw players do in Tottenham v Bodo/Glimt tie
Tottenham took an early lead through Brennan Johnson against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
Spurs host Kjetil Knutsen’s team at home on 1 May in the first leg of the semi-final as they look to get a decisive win and seal their place in the final.
The North London outfit scored in the first minute as Richarlison set Johnson up in the six-yard box.
It wasn’t the goal that stood out, though, with Ally McCoist amazed at what the Norwegian outfit were seen doing right after they conceded.

Bodo/Glimt regroup after Tottenham score first goal
McCoist was surprised to see Bodo/Glimt players regroup immediately after Spurs scored.
The Norwegian outfit formed a huddle before kick-off and were seen doing the same after a fast start from the hosts.
Competition (2024/25) | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Europa League | 11 | 4 | 1 |
McCoist was astonished by Knutsen’s team’s actions after a disastrous opening minute for them in N17.
Speaking on TNT Sports 2 (1 May, 20:05), the Scotsman said: “Look at the Bodo/Glimt team right now. It’s amazing what they’re doing. They’re absolutely regrouping. They’re getting their heads together. Calming themselves down because it’s a disastrous start for them.”

Postecoglou sack inevitable at Spurs
Levy will arguably want to replace Postecoglou at the North London outfit, regardless of their prospects in the Europa League.
Spurs should be the favourites against Bodo/Glimt, but surprising things have happened in N17 this season.
The Lilywhites are 16th in the Premier League after losing 19 games in the current campaign, as fans have had to watch some abysmal performances from their team.
Tottenham already have replacements for Postecoglou lined up, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Levy sack the Australian head coach if Bodo/Glimt reach the final of the European competition.
It feels like the only reason the former Celtic boss is still in charge at the North London outfit is because of their prospects in the Europa League.
Spurs have a chance to end their 17-year trophy drought by lifting the trophy in Bilbao, but they’ll need to get there first.
Manchester United or Athletic Club could be the Lilywhites’ opponents in the final, and it wouldn’t be easy for them to win against either of them.
For now, Postecoglou needs to ensure Spurs dominate the Norwegian outfit and seal the tie at home before travelling to the difficult Aspmyra Stadion on 8 May.
