West Ham vs Tottenham injury latest as four players could now miss London Stadium clash

Tottenham will be looking to come out on top against West Ham despite their injury woes.

Tottenham take on West Ham on Thursday, 13 September in a confrontation which promises to be eventful.

The Lilywhites signed Mohammed Kudus from the Hammers earlier in the summer. While the winger has the utmost respect for his former side, Kudus’ Tottenham departure struck a nerve with West Ham fans.

But hours before the clash is set to commence, it seems West Ham will have more than a home advantage going into the game.

Tottenham to be without four players vs West Ham

Tottenham have seen their injured players gradually return to the fold these past couple of weeks.

Djed Spence has stepped in for Destiny Udogie while the Italian has been sidelined. But the fullback has recently returned to training.

Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma is also on the path to recovery, but it remains to be seen whether he’s still out of favour with Thomas Frank.

Dejan Kulusevski’s return to Tottenham was clarified by the midfielder this month. But he should not return to the pitch for at least another two months. Furthermore, Kota Takai, James Maddison and Radu Dragusin are also unavailable for the game.

On the other side of London, West Ham’s advantage doubled when Graham Potter announced there would be no absentees for the match.

Niclas Fullkrug was a doubt after picking up a calf injury during international duty, but the Hammers boss mentioned that he “trained lightly” with the team and will continue to be monitored.

The scales are in Spurs’ favour

West Ham may have the home advantage, but Tottenham have Frank.

Potter has played nine matches against the Lilywhites in all competitions during his time coaching, while Frank has played the same amount against the Hammers.

While anything can happen in football and both have coached more than one side in the Premier League, their recent performances do provide an insight into how the game could go.

As a result, Frank may be Spurs’ secret weapon as they head into the game.
