Tottenham vs Copenhagen preview: Team news, lineups, prediction

Tottenham return to Champions League action on Tuesday as they take on Danish side Copenhagen.

Thomas Frank will be looking to return to winning ways after criticism arose from the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Spurs were dreadful, with the North London side hitting an inconsistent run of form.

Now, with Copenhagen travelling to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a win will be expected from the fans.

Team news

Frank has confirmed that Lucas Bergvall is out after a concussion against Chelsea. The Swede is not set to miss at least two matches.

Mohammed Kudus and Djed Spence could be available on Tuesday despite picking up knocks on the weekend.

However, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, Dominic Solanke, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, Ben Davies, Kota Takai and Archie Gray all remain on the sidelines.

On top of this, Mathys Tel is ineligible to play in the fixture.

For Copenhagen, the visits will be hopeful that Marco Lopez will be fit after being forced off on the weekend.

Thomas Delaney, Oliver Hojer, Magnus Mattsson, Rodrigo Huescas and Birger Meling are all also out of action for the Danish side.

Predicted lineups

Tottenham: Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie, Palhinha, Sarr, Bentacur, Kudus, Richarlison, Odobert

Copenhagen: Kotarski, Lopez, Garananga, Hatzidiakos, Suzuki, Elyounoussi, Lerager, Clem, Achouri, Moukoko, Claesson

Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Copenhagen

While Frank does not have the best record against Copenhagen, Tottenham should have enough quality to get past the Danes.

A win is duly needed in the Champions League, especially after the last two draws.

Therefore, anything other than three points would be unacceptable, and Frank knows this.

However, given the recent performance against Chelsea, it is unlikely to be pretty, with Spurs predicted to only muster a 2-0 win.
