Richard Keys apologises as he cannot believe Man City vs Tottenham controversy
Tottenham continued their perfect start to the Premier League season with a huge 2-0 victory against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
Brennan Johnson opened the scoring after VAR intervened over an offside call, with Joao Palhinha doubling the lead before halftime for a massive Tottenham win at The Etihad.
It could have been even better for Thomas Frank and Spurs, though, but James Trafford avoided punishment after a collision outside of the box.
Not only did Trafford appear to take out Mohammed Kudus, but he also handled the ball.

Premier League get another controversy wrong at Man City vs Tottenham
Richard Keys was not impressed with the call from Peter Bankes or the VAR, as Trafford got away with it.
Taking to social media after the incident, left Kudus crumbled on the floor, Keys also noticed that Trafford had handled the ball outside of his area.
The beIN Sports presenter believes it was more of a handball than the incident that saw James Tarkowski penalised in Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Leeds United.
Keys went on to apologise after taking a poor-quality image, trying to prove his point.
Writing on X, he said: “This is more handball than Tarkowski Monday night. Why didn’t VAR see this? Trafford should be off.
“Apologies. I missed the pic in the half-time rush.”

Frank will be delighted with the start to this season, with the penalty defeat against the colossal Paris Saint-Germain the only blip on the record.
Winning again at Manchester City, just as they did last year, sends a real statement out to the rest of the Premier League.
- 2025: Man City 0 – 2 Tottenham
- 2024: Man City 0 – 4 Tottenham
- 2023: Man City 3 – 3 Tottenham
Frank must now show that it wasn’t a one-off, though, like Ange Postecoglou, who was eventually sacked after a dreadful season last year in North London, despite success over City.
