Premier League release statement after Radu Dragusin controversy in Fulham vs Tottenham
Igor Tudor was fuming on the touchline as VAR didn’t overturn Fulham’s opener against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs conceded early on at Craven Cottage on 1 March, with Harry Wilson giving the hosts the immediate lead in the seventh minute.
In the build-up to the goal, Raul Jimenez clearly had his hands on the back of Radu Dragusin, with the slight contact arguably hindering the defender’s ability to clear the cross.
Seconds later, the ball fell to Wilson, who made no mistake, finding the back of the net, with VAR subsequently determining that the Mexican striker’s contact on the centre-back wasn’t worthy of a foul.
Igor Tudor has nightmare start as Tottenham in trouble vs Fulham
Tudor’s first game in charge of Tottenham was against Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta’s team winning 4-1 in N17.
The Croatian manager now has to deal with the prospect of coming back from two goals down going into the break.
Spurs are in big trouble if they fail to turn things around at Craven Cottage, with the North London outfit only four points above the relegation zone.
The prospect of relegation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looks realistic, with the Lilywhites now desperate for some positive results.
With just 10 games to go after, Tudor has to show he can bring the best out of the team or risk getting replaced.
Writing on X, the Premier League Match Centre stated, “The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed the contact by Jiménez on Drăgușin did not meet the threshold for a foul.”
Igor Tudor must make immediate change at half-time at Craven Cottage
Dragusin has looked shaky in the opening 45 minutes, and it would make sense for Tudor to replace him.
Kevin Danso has returned to the squad and is on the bench, but it remains to be seen whether the Croatian manager will be brave enough.

Spurs have an uphill battle at Craven Cottage, and they made things easy for Fulham in the first half.
It’s time for Tudor to earn his money, and he must be ruthless for the betterment of the team.
