Gareth Bale stunned by footage of Tottenham fans in Europa League final v Man United
Gareth Bale was mesmerised as Tottenham faced Manchester United in the Europa League final at San Mames on Wednesday.
Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim’s teams travelled to Bilbao on 21 May, with Brennan Johnson forcing Luke Shaw’s own goal to give the North London outfit the lead in the first half.
Dominic Solanke’s opening 45 minutes at San Mames were underwhelming as he was anonymous for most of it, but the Lilywhites had a 1-0 advantage at the break and held on to it.
After Spurs found the back of the net, Bale was stunned by the footage he was shown from N17.

Tottenham fans’ celebration in N17 loved by Bale
Bale loved to see fans celebrating at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Johnson scored the opener.
The former Spurs forward was pleased to see the faces of the delighted crowd in N17 who were watching the Lilywhites from afar.
Bale was glad to see the North London outfit take the lead and hoped for them to build on their performance in the second half.
Speaking on TNT Sports 1 during half time (21 May), the Welshman said: “I just love seeing the faces when you score, and looking back at it, it’s a big moment for Tottenham, and like I said, hopefully can build on that in the second half.”
Spurs have historic end to season under Postecoglou
Postecoglou was under pressure at Spurs after what’s been a rather underwhelming Premier League campaign.
The Australian manager has sacrificed the English top flight in recent weeks, fielding a weak starting lineup against Aston Villa at Villa Park as the North London outfit lost 2-0 on 16 May.
With a 17-year trophy drought at the Lilywhites, Daniel Levy would’ve been desperate for them to lift silverware in Bilbao, and they done so.

Tottenham will have a massive decision to make regarding Postecoglou now that he’s won the Europa League final against Man United.
While Amorim hasn’t had the best of seasons either, the Portuguese head coach will surely be given an opportunity to build his team even with the Red Devils losing.
The former Celtic boss will leave with his head held high if Levy decides to part ways with him after emerging successful at San Mames.
Postecoglou was also fighting for his reputation in Bilbao, and a loss would’ve undoubtedly left his managerial stock at an all-time low.
