Tottenham want Yoane Wissa to reunite with Thomas Frank at Hotspur Way this summer.

Daniel Levy was humiliated when Bryan Mbeumo reportedly ruled out a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to focus on securing a switch to Manchester United.

It was believed that the appointment of Frank would convince Mbeumo to sign for the club. However, that has not gone to plan as of late.

But the rejection has forced the Tottenham chairman to pivot, with him again hoping that the Dane's allure entices Wissa.

Newcastle United want Wissa, but he is set on Tottenham

After suffering a blow in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, Levy needs a win, and Wissa could offer it to him.

As reported by Alex Crook on Thursday (17 July), Newcastle consider themselves out of the running for Hugo Ekitike now that the player has made clear his preference for Liverpool.

The Reds have now advanced for Ekitike, with Newcastle currently unwilling to let Alexander Isak leave.

As a result, the Magpies have turned their attention to Wissa. But rejection has become a theme this summer, as it is believed he would prefer a reunion with Frank at Spurs.

There is no doubt that Levy will be pleased not to be on the receiving end of rejection once again. This could encourage the North London club to accelerate negotiations with Brentford for Wissa's signature.

Club-to-club talks are not expected to be easy. The Bees have been widely reported to be reluctant to sell, given the ongoing saga with Mbeumo.

However, with Wissa keen on the transfer, there is reason to suggest he could force a move this summer.

Wissa would be a good addition to Tottenham

Frank has his work cut out for him during the forthcoming season. Levy has made his intentions to win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League clear, and the Dane is expected to deliver.

However, walking into a new team is never easy and implementing a successful playing strategy takes time. But having someone like Wissa, who is already familiar with his approach, could be a huge boost.

The centre-forward netted 20 goals in 39 appearances for Brentford last season and could score more with Spurs' playmakers behind him.

The transfer makes sense from a sporting and financial standpoint and could make all the difference next season.
